hit Jane Austen parody
Pride and Plot of Pointlessness

WHAT:
This delightful romp through Georgian England is a parody of Jane Austen so sincere, it's almost an homage. with music by Dennis Curley!
The mega-talented comedy cast includes Jim Robinson, Shanan Wexler, Julie Grover McArdle, Bob Malos, Michelle Cassioppi, Mo Perry, Tina North, Amy Schweikhardt, Katy McEwen, Tim Uren, Joseph Scrimshaw, and Dennis Curley.

TRIUMPH of the SQUIRRELS!
Thanks to all who came to see
AN INCONVENIENT SQUIRREL
at the 2008 MN Fringe Festival!
The Squirrels were the #2 best-selling show of the festival and received rave reviews such as
"MUST SEE!"-Pioneer Press
"...brilliantly squirrelly. Like the great Warner brothers cartoons, the adults are howling with laughter alongside their children"
-tcdailyplanet.com
"Scrimshaw fractures fairytale motifs in a fun way and presents a number of memorable characters, such as Evil Genius Squirrel and Thinks He's a Pirate Squirrel. By the end, there's a moral that's really not all that simple. That aside, there's also plenty of good physical humor, some deft parody and, above all, four guys dressed up as squirrels. What's not to like?"
-City Pages

Watch for Squirrel remounts!

With his brother, Joshua, he is one half of The Scrimshaw Brothers Comedy Team. The Brothers were named City Pages' Artists of the Year in 2002 and have been described as "the utility men of comedy-jumping from sketches to slapstick to soliloquy without skipping a laugh" (Pioneer Press).

As a solo artist, Joseph is the author of MN Fringe Fest hits, The Worst Show in the Fringe (the #1 best-selling show of the Festival in 2002 and #4 in 2003),
Adventures in Mating (the #3 best-selling show in 2005), Die, Clowns, Die! (the #6 best-selling show in 2006), and Macbeth's Awesome Scottish Castle Party (the #1 best-selling show in 2007). His hit interactive romantic comedy Adventures in Mating is playing throughout the world with productions in Minneapolis, Seattle, New York, the UK, and Bulgaria and more productions in the works. Joseph is also a resident performer of Children's Theater and the Graphic Designer at
Old Gem Theater in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

As an actor Joseph has performed with the MN Shakespeare Company, Bedlam Theater, History Theater, the Mystery Cafe Theater and The Chicago Improv Festival.

As a freelance writer, Joseph has created (and sometimes performed) new works for Hardcover Theater, MN Historical Society, General Mills, MN Public Radio and The Current as well as upcoming projects for Science Museum of MN and MN Book Awards.

Joseph holds a BS in Visual Art, Rhetoric and Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota. In 1996, he took beginning acting for non-acting majors. This was the beginning and end of his formal academic training as an actor.
